After having made a contract with the devil, the protagonist acquired the ability to regenerate from fatal wounds, essentially rendering him immortal. However, this comes at a price, as each time he is resurrected like this, he must give up to his infernal patron part of his soul of his body. Thus, he ventured into a dungeon which is said to contain measureless riches, hoping to find there another way to pay his gruesome debt...

Enjoy the traditional roguelike experience of turn-by-turn combat and procedurally generated dungeon crawling, with a twist: permanent death is replaced with a choice. Once you reach 0 hit points, you'll have to choose an ability to lose among three of your starting abilities. You'll have to be strategic about it in order to survive through the levels of the dungeon.

The Eternal One is a game created in 48 hours as a submission to GMTK Jam 2018, with the theme "Genre without mechanic". I worked with a friend of mine on the game, and a sound designer gave us a hand for the sound effects and the music. We thus were two to design the game and program it, and I also drew the graphics of the game.
